Pieter and his brother lived their child life on a farm. Their parents were very ordinary farmers in Mpumalanga, South Africa. He completed school at the Middleburg High School followed by five years military service. He studied at the University of Pretoria for seven years with Psychology as a focus point of interest and Theology as post graduate qualifications. He was a full-time Minister of Religion in the Dutch Reformed Church and specialised in youth ministry and counselling. Slowly his hobby became a fulltime career. This hobby is trying to understand where we are going with our world and what the future will hold for all of us in terms of society, business, technology, politics and the mindset of future generations. He is fascinated by concepts such as the future family, child, customers, church and leaders.

Pieter consults to some leading companies in South Africa, he wrote of few books, many articles and is actively involved in various research projects. He has been part of the development team building NXTmove - an artificial intelligence consulting tool for business design development. He was the leader of the research and development programme of Shadowmatch - a sophisticated tool used to predict the propensity of people to succeed doing a specific task in a specific environment. He has just completed the working framework of a customer contact development system for business.

Golf is the way Pieter prefers to spend leisure time. He plays off a four handicap. He collects mechanical watches made in Europe. He practices as a part time professional graphologist. He also lectures part time, does some scuba diving, teaches people to play the guitar, writes, reads and enjoys time with his three children.
